Home Safety Evaluations
A Home Safety and Accessibility Evaluation should be personalized to you and conducted by a skilled professional who can link your needs with your abilities, interests, and environment. Occupational therapists are uniquely trained in this area.
Research shows that a Home Safety and Accessibility Evaluation performed by an occupational therapist:
-
reduces the likelihood of you being admitted to a nursing home or other long term care facility
-
allows you to be able to do more in your home
-
increases the chances of you participating more in your community
-
reduces the likelihood of being readmitted back to hospital
